Founded in 2016 by two doctors and a software developer, Tomes GmbH combines medical and technical expertise to make everyday working life at medical practices and hospitals that little bit better. Firmly convinced of the enormous potential digital solutions offer in the field of medicine, Tomes develops innovative software solutions aimed primarily at optimizing routine healthcare processes and making them more efficient. Above all, the Freiburg-based company focuses on the day-to-day needs of doctors, staff and patients. Tomes is unveiling its IDANA Software-as-a-Service solution in the Digital Health display category at this year's CEBIT in Hannover.

Recording a patient's medical history and current complaints is key to reaching a diagnosis. Careful anamnesis of this kind is sufficient in up to 80 percent of all cases but time is always at a premium, so medical apparatus and diagnostic laboratory tests are routinely used instead. This results in high healthcare costs and increases the risk of incorrect treatments. IDANA is an intelligent digital anamnesis solution aimed at remedying this situation. Taking the reason for the consultation as its basis, the software uses adaptive questionnaires to obtain details of the patient's current complaints and prior medical history. It then provides the doctor with an intelligent, transparent evaluation of the data. The cloud-based software platform consists of a mobile app for patients and a desktop app for doctors to configure and evaluate the details provided. IDANA can be used to gather information about general aspects such as previous illnesses, allergies, medication or risk factors and also includes a wide range of questionnaires relating to specific illnesses/diseases to establish an initial case history, keep track of developments and guide follow-up care using telemedicine. This impressive solution ensures all relevant information is recorded and proactively supports communication between doctor and patient.
