Time to put an end!

Link11, provider of security measures against DDoS, is gathering an international group of DDoS experts for live debate, demos and presentations at the first DDoS Competence Center at CeBIT 2015.

05 Mar. 2015

Over the last year, there has been a marked increase in attacks on German servers and websites, causing temporary crashes and interrupting communications to such high-profile sites as Chancellor Merkel's office, the major political party SPD and German IP telephone provider Sipgate. The attackers generally bombard the websites with traffic, known as distributed denial of service (DDoS), because most servers and networks are inadequately protected against this ploy. Experts from around the world will be discussing how these malevolent attacks can be countered at the first DDoS Competence Center meeting organized by Link11 GmbH at CeBIT 2015 in Hannover.

The event is being held in Hall 6 by Link 11 GmbH, the German designer of a Cloud-based DDoS protection system, in partnership with Ixia, the world’s leading provider of network security tests, and Corero, which manufactures hardware solutions designed to protect against cyber-threats such as DDoS. The Managing Director of Link11 sums up the idea behind the DDoS Competence Centers as follows: "CIOs and IT managers must be familiar with DDoS attack scenarios, how they can guard against them and data protection requirements. The DDoS Competence Center pools the expertise and technologies of many DDoS specialists to devise fully rounded responses."
