Security Providers Show Strength

Cyber security has moved to the center of CeBIT in terms of both content and space. The major providers have increased their presence.

25 Jan. 2017

Big data and analytics, cloud, mobile, social business, and the IoT are principal topics at the world’s most important event for digital business. A topic that connects all CeBIT trends and thus receives special attention in 2017 is IT security . In the CeBIT Business Security Section (Hall 6), many big names in the industry demonstrate how institutions and companies of every size protect themselves against data theft, espionage, or sabotage while advancing digitization at the same time.

Sophos (Stand F18) is one of the important exhibitors: More than 100 million users in 150 countries rely on Sophos' complete security solutions as the best protection against complex IT threats and data loss. To this end, Sophos offers award-winning endpoint security, Web, e-mail, mobile, and network security solutions that are easy to manage, install, and deploy as well as communicate among themselves by means of synchronized security. The offer is supported by SophosLabs, a worldwide network of the company's own analysis centers. Sophos has its head office in Boston in the USA, and Oxford in Great Britain. In Germany, the company has its head office in Wiesbaden and is represented in Austria and Switzerland at respective business locations.

Kaspersky Lab (Stand H18) has been one of the global players on the scene for 20 years. "Threat Intelligence" and the company’'s security expertise form the basis for security solutions and services to protect companies, critical infrastructures, government facilities, and private users. The company’s portfolio includes endpoint protection as well as a number of specialized security solutions and services for defense against complex cyber threats. More than 400 million users and 270,000 corporate customers are protected by Kaspersky technology.

Together with its partner NSIDE Attack Logic GmbH, indevis (Stand F16) presents an innovative type of live hacking several times per day – attack and defense are demonstrated in a hacking maneuver on a corporate network. The red team takes on the role of the hackers and demonstrates typical attack scenarios on a monitor. On the second monitor the blue team responds to these attacks and demonstrates possibilities for digital self-defense. Such a hacking maneuver with two teams represents the most modern method of how intrusion and penetration tests are carried out today. Here visitors can have a look at the cyber security dangers that currently exist and how such a security analysis can be conducted in their own enterprise.

For almost thirty years the Japanese IT security provider Trend Micro (Stand B16) has aimed to create a safe world for digital data exchange. The solutions for private users, businesses, and authorities offer multilevel protection for datacenters, including cloud-based and virtualized environments, networks, and terminals. One of the central trade exhibition topics for Trend Micro this year is "Business Process Compromise", the capturing of entire business processes. A showcase at the exhibition stand shows what attack scenarios are possible, which industries and corporate divisions will be particularly affected, and why the "possible earnings" of criminals are so high in this case.

The value added distributors (VAD) Nuvias(Stand G18) will present their extensive portfolio from the IT security and IT infrastructure segments at CeBIT. At Stand G18 in Hall 6 the affiliated companies present many of their well-known manufacturers under the motto of "Redefining IT Distribution." With the product teams of these partners visitors can discuss current requirements to be met by IT security and obtain information about best practices. Nuvias are joint organizers of CeBIT Cyber Security Night on March 23 .

The IT security company Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity (Stand J16) protects companies and public institutions against cyber attacks worldwide. With the takeover of DenyAll, the French Web security specialist, Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity continues to consolidate on its way to the leading European provider for trustworthy cyber security solutions. With highly secure encryption solutions, next generation firewalls, as well as software for network analysis and endpoint security, the company also develops and manufactures leading technological solutions for information and network security. At CeBIT the company will present its broad portfolio, which ranges from compact all-in-one products to individual solutions for critical infrastructures.

In Hall 6, Protected Network presents its vision of forward-looking access rights management with the product 8MAN (Stand D16) in the form of compliance conform authorization management that prepares companies for the upcoming EU-DSGVO. This young company in Berlin tripled its space at CeBIT 2017.

The exhibitor MATESO (Stand F15), at CeBIT for the first time, also requires a large display area. Its password safe box makes it possible to assign individual rights. Who may release and break sealed data records using the multiple signature principle? All actions within the database are recorded in an unchangeable log that is secured against revision. User behavior is monitored and an automatic message is dispatched to the corresponding corporate offices in the case of atypical behavior. Nineteen of the top thirty DAX companies already rely on this technology according to MATESO.
