Varonis Systems has joined the ranks of exhibitors at this year's CEBIT and is showcasing its latest data analysis solutions. Training the spotlight on governance, compliance and classification, the data security specialist is demonstrating how to effectively identify malware and suspicious user activity, find and classify sensitive data and comprehensively manage authorizations.
Thomas Ehrlich, Country Manager at Varonis for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, is certain that the introduction of the GDPR on 25 May 2018 is by no means the last word in data security. "Quite the opposite - we're still going to have to deal with data theft, security gaps in processors and malware. Hackers are still going to find a way through security, whether through drive-by infections or social engineering. The question is what companies can do to effectively protect their most precious assets - their confidential data." One of the solutions could be Varonis Edge. This new product analyzes metadata from perimeter devices such as DNS, VPN and web proxies to identify threats like malware, APT intrusion and exfiltration and compares them against what is going on in the main data storage archive. That gives data security officers a more detailed insight, enabling them to pick out correlations, build up a more detailed understanding of attacks and suspicious activities faster, and put appropriate countermeasures in place.
