How to secure d!conomy

Europe’s businesses have placed security at the top of their IT agenda. At CeBIT you can defend yourself against cyber attacks.

17 Nov. 2015

The transformation to digital has resulted in increased investment in high-tech products and services in all sectors. As stated in the "Key Technology Trends 2015/2016" report, which is published annually by the European IT Observatory (EITO), IT security is at the top of the agenda in Europe. Almost two-thirds (62 percent) of Western European countries surveyed place a high to very high priority on making improvements in this area in the coming year – an increase of four percent over 2014.

The "Business Security" cluster at CeBIT in Hall 6 is showcasing the latest technology for IT security and is addressing the challenges it presents in two daily forums.

The "Business Security Forum" organized by SecuMedia Verlag provides practical information on comprehensive IT security for businesses. In addition to the IoT trend, short 20-minute presentations will be held on apps, encryption, networks, data protection, industrial IT security, patch management, BYOD, cloud computing, car forensics and firewalls.

On stage at "CeBIT Security Plaza" experts from well-known major industry players will report on explosive security gaps and how one can close them. Contents include IT security for SMEs, online shops, in the cloud, for services and for e-banking.

Prominent representatives of the security scene will also appear at CeBIT Global Conferences in Hall 8. Among others, Christian Fredrikson, CEO of the Finnish company F-Secure, will examine security solutions for the cloud, which have become necessary due to the growth rate of the Internet of Things. Peter Leppelt, Managing Director of Qabel, a Hannover startup, will present a software platform which can be used to encrypt digital communication in e-mails, online banking and smart homes.

CeBIT Global Conferences will examine the IT security topic from the point of view of users. With the theme “Transparency as a Raw Material for Digital Transformation", the effect of technology on digital work living environments will be examined on the open stage. Topics include digital medical files, smart homes and digitally integrated cars.
