Gatekeeper to the cloud

In spite of their efficiency and cost benefits, lots of companies still steer clear of cloud services due to concerns about security. To help protect the sensitive interfaces between the cloud and the Internet from attacks, genua is exhibiting a new solution at CEBIT 2018 - the virtual Cloud Security Gateway.

Part of the Bundesdruckerei Group, genua GmbH is a seasoned expert in all things related to IT security. The company offers a huge range of solutions that helps to safeguard sensitive interfaces in public sector and industrial environments, network highly critical infrastructures, reliably encrypt data communication via the Internet, implement remote maintenance systems and provide remote access solutions for mobile workers and home offices. Developed and produced exclusively in Germany, all solutions are regularly certified, with permits issued by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) offering additional evidence of high product quality. The virtual Cloud Security Gateway genua is bringing to CEBIT is a new security solution for using the cloud.

The virtual Cloud Security Gateway checks the data it receives before “depositing” it in the cloud, which helps to identify and block harmful malware and undesired content. Unlike other security solutions, such as packet filters and next-generation firewalls, which are either unable to analyze content or only carry out spot checks, the Cloud Security Gateway conducts particularly thorough content checks. Because it is designed as a virtual system, the gateway can also be run in as many instances as necessary to suit performance requirements. Additional instances are configured automatically via the cloud platform.

Alongside the virtual Cloud Security Gateway, genua is also exhibiting solutions designed to provide secure remote maintenance applications for production machinery. This particular approach is being demonstrated with the help of soccer-playing humanoid robots on the joint stand with the Bundesdruckerei.
