Deutsche Bank to exhibit at CEBIT

Deutsche Bank will be the only major German lender to be represented at the new-look CEBIT fair. The bank will be exhibiting its Deutsche Bank API Program (dbAPI) in the hall dedicated to the Scale 11 start-up platform from June 11 to 15. "We will be exhibiting in the hall with all of the start-ups we would like to work with on developing new products," said Joris Hensen, initiator and Co-Head of the Deutsche Bank API programme in Frankfurt.

Deutsche Bank will demonstrate the broad possibilities that banking data offer. Banking data is more than just data: it's a reflection of day-to-day life. "We are always looking for new approaches on how our clients can intelligently and wisely leverage the potential of their data," added Hensen. This is aimed at companies which are also looking to develop digital applications that go beyond conventional financial services – be they start-ups or established businesses. Customers retain full control of their personal data at all times.

Oliver Frese, Deutsche Messe's Managing Board member responsible for CEBIT, said: "Although digitalisation provides major opportunities for the entire financial sector, it also faces challenges. The new-look CEBIT is the right place to discuss the future of the banking business from different viewpoints and we are pleased that Deutsche Bank is part of it". In addition, Deutsche Bank's Head of Data and Innovation JP Rangaswami will be a keynote speaker in the CEBIT d!talk program.

For Deutsche Bank, CEBIT starts before June 11: interested companies can obtain information ahead of the fair on how they can use dbAPI and make arrangements to meet the team at CEBIT on:

Deutsche Bank is Germany's leading bank, with a strong position in Europe and a significant presence in the Americas and Asia Pacific.

About dbAPI

The Deutsche Bank Application Programming Interface (dbAPI) forms the technical basis for Deutsche Bank's platform business (open banking). dbAPI is the bank's way of accelerating its speed of innovation and developing a new business model featuring innovative, bank-related products and services that also go far beyond traditional banking.

dbAPI enables the bank to include external partners, thereby expanding the range of digital products and services it offers clients quickly and securely. Following verification, dbAPI gives businesses – from start-ups to established players – access to individual client data. Deutsche Bank's clients remain in complete control of their personal data at all times. Clients can decide for themselves whether they want to allow an external partner of the bank to access their data in return for the use of personalised digital services.
