Is it just us, or does the market for print solutions seem to have hit something of a plateau? Real innovations – with the exception of 3D printing, which itself seems to be becoming somewhat pedestrian – have been few and far between lately. So what can manufacturers do to strengthen their position on the market? Well, they can configure the ideal tool for every requirement, move into even the smallest of niches and keep a very close eye on their prices. That is precisely the approach adopted by printer manufacturer OKI, and it is using this year’s CeBIT in Hannover as an opportunity to expand its recently launched color portfolio with a new state-of-the-art A4 color multifunction printer – the MC563dn.
The key traits of the MC563dn undoubtedly include its powerful security features, which can also be found on all the other models in the color portfolio. For example, the Private Print function sends confidential documents to the printer as encrypted files that are automatically deleted from the system once printed. The MC563dn also boasts all the latest tech, with Gigabit Ethernet to ensure fast transfer of large color files across the network, and is Google Cloud Print 2.0 ready, as well as being compatible with Apple AirPrint for mobile printing. Finally, the optimized installation routine and integrated video-based user support make sure this advanced piece of kit is extremely easy to use. "The new, cost-effective MC563dn gives companies of all sizes and in all sectors a very easy means of optimizing their document workflow. Thanks to its excellent media flexibility and professional quality printing it can be used to cover a wide range of printing requirements in-house, saving both time and money," explains Heiko Thomsen, Senior Manager Product Marketing at OKI Systems (Deutschland) GmbH.
