University training executives for digital jobs

Starting in the winter semester of 2018/19, TU Kaiserslautern will offer an extra-occupational "Digital Management" course online focused on digital transformation and its effects on the workplace.

The "Digital Management" training program is aimed at managers looking to assess the consequences of digitization for management processes and to learn more about it. The six-month course is designed as an extra-occupational offering online, available from the distance learning center at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, and costs 890 euros. The agenda includes topics such as digital transformation, management and organizational research, business model development and internationalization of startups, controlling 4.0 and innovative pricing systems.

This type of training offering is urgently needed, as revealed in the "The Future of Jobs" study issued by the World Economic Forum. By 2020, that study predicts, around 35% of employees in industrial nations will have to adapt to changing requirements. The authors of the study conclude that employee training in particular requires improvement: It all comes down to a high level of training and the ability to adapt to new technologies.
