With almost six months to go before the revamped CeBIT 2018 in Hannover, the first details of the trade fair program are being announced, primarily relating to the event's key themes. In particular, these include the Internet of Things. Over 50 billion devices are expected to be connected with each other on the Internet within the next two years. Whether it’s mobile or stationary gadgets, smart companions, cars and the associated infrastructure, medical equipment, the home or individual machines, the Internet of Things (IoT) is connecting the world. And it's set to bring about a transformation, with IoT reaching around 85 percent of companies by 2020. This offers potential that needs to be harnessed for everyone's benefit. Among the exhibitors at CeBIT 2018, Europe's business festival for innovation and digitization, Software AG will be presenting concrete applications for successfully moving into and expanding IoT activities.
As a technology market leader in IoT, Software AG will be focusing in particular on innovative applications: "The new format that CeBIT will be launching with in summer 2018 won us over instantly. As a festival of digital innovations, CeBIT is now responding to new disruptive business models on the market," says Karl-Heinz Streibich, Chairman of the Board of Management at Software AG. "Our focus is the Internet of Things, a subject that will revolutionize our workplaces and homes in the next few years. For example, with ADAMOS - an alliance of global market leaders in mechanical engineering - we've given a taste of the future of digital production. We'll be demonstrating the potential of this technology with a whole range of exciting showcases in Hannover."
