Meta job search engine Joblift has evaluated all 17 million advertisements from the past 24 months. The results are clear: Currently, app developers are sought about ten times more frequently than experts for mobile web. Overall, the demand for app developers is increasing drastically, according to Joblift: Up to October 2017 the job market saw a growth of 23% over the previous year. In total 10,806 new jobs were created for programmers in this area within the past 24 months.

When it comes to their specializations, 62% of ads sought full stack developers with a wide range of skills. Only 21% of job advertisements were looking strictly for iOS experts, 17% for Android experts and less than 1% for Windows Phone experts.

App or mobile web? A mobile web strategy has long been a must for companies. Current data from the payment platform Adyen show that more than half of global e-commerce is carried out today on mobile devices. The growth has been brisk. Two years ago, the figure was only 34%.
