In recent months, almost every major German automotive supplier has begun to establish and promote startup companies. Bosch relies on the internal platform grow , which is operated by the wholly owned subsidiary Robert Bosch Start-up GmbH . The platform is open not only to internal employees, but also to external company founders.
ZF Friedrichshafen has joined the Startup Autobahn innovation and cooperation platform and also cooperates with the Plug and Play Tech Center , an international startup accelerator in Silicon Valley, California that screens more than 8,000 startup companies each year. Tire manufacturer Continental, in turn, relies on the internal co-pace platform , which has set itself the goal of attracting external founders as well.
The supplier Hella has founded the Berlin-based startup Brighter AI , which is working on transforming infrared night photography into daylight images. And last but not least, Osram has created the venture capital firm Fluxunit , which aims to find and promote young, innovative companies.
