ADAC and CEBIT agree to long-term partnership "Future Mobility"

The German automobile association ADAC and CEBIT have agreed to a long-term partnership for the "Future Mobility" topic cluster at CEBIT, Europe's biggest business festival for innovation and digitization. "The newly conceived CEBIT is an outstanding platform, one that reflects the digital transformation of mobility across all types of transportation modes," said Dr. August Markl, President of ADAC.

"The presence of such a strong partner will make CEBIT even more valuable from a content point of view," added Oliver Frese, member of the Deutsche Messe Managing Board.

As a cooperation partner for the CEBIT business festival, running from 11 to 15 June in Hannover, Europe's biggest motor club will be staging a number of innovative formats and offerings there. According to Markl: "We are currently developing ADAC from a roadside assistance provider into a mobility helper for our members, and will be conspicuously highlighting this change in the CEBIT digital landscape." ADAC will for instance be hosting young companies from the mobility sector in its role as "community captain" at the "Scale11" startup platform.

Markl said he also expected the startup pitches scheduled at the event to deliver numerous ideas to drive the digital development of Germany's largest club, which has more than 20 million members. Young companies will have the opportunity to convince ADAC decision-makers of their new business models, and numerous experts from the motor club will also be contributing to the CEBIT d!talk conference program delving into mobility, marketing and digital transformation themes.

"Our commitment this year is the first step in a long-term partnership with CEBIT," said the ADAC President. "We want to continue to be the first port of call for our members on all questions of mobility. This means ongoing further development, since mobility and mobility behavior are changing massively due to the impact of digitization. We’re expecting important and valuable ideas to emerge from our cooperation with CEBIT," stated Markl.

"ADAC is a strong ally with great competence on the content side, with whom we can actively partner to drive the topic of Future Mobility" commented Frese. "Digital transformation requires a universalist perspective in a growing number of fields – otherwise innovations won’t be able unleash their full power. An innovative payment system in a public bus is all well and good, but doesn’t add up to smart mobility in and of itself. These innovations need to be embedded in holistic solutions if we are to come closer to achieving our aims."
