Cherry GmbH is a long-established, world-leading manufacturer of computer input devices. Besides its legendary switches for mechanical keyboards - so keenly appreciated by gamers, among others - the company focuses primarily on products for use in offices, industry and security. Cherry'’s new G87 1505 eGK keyboard/terminal solution has been authorized by gematik (Gesellschaft für Telematikanwendungen der Gesundheitskarte mbH) for use with its online-productive operations system (OPB1) for the telematics infrastructure (TI), offering a welcome helping hand in the process of networking Germany's healthcare system.

The certified G87 1505 keyboard should greatly ease the analog-to-digital switchover (both enforced and supported by Germany's law-making bodies) thanks to the USB port that provides a quick and easy way of integrating it into existing systems. Tens of thousands of users in medical practices and clinics stand to benefit from this solution from a very familiar name, having already worked with Cherry’s previous models for years. What's more, this space-saving keyboard boasts a range of special features for handling the new electronic health cards.
