A new CEBIT first: a Ferris wheel with 40 passenger cabins, reaching a height of 60 meters. Europe's largest software company, SAP, is bringing the giant wheel to CEBIT in the summer of 2018. Featuring the leitmotif of "10 Minutes of Innovation", the company is setting up its Ferris wheel at the d!campus exhibition zone. In the big wheel's 40 cabins, passengers will be able to view showcases, listen to expert talks and examine SAP solutions involving digitization, artificial intelligence, machine learning/IoT, SAP Leonardo and SAP S/4HANA. This Ferris wheel of innovations is a central component of the SAP appearance at the show, which will occupy a total of 2,300 square meters of space at the heart of CEBIT 2018.
"Digitization means lateral thinking, networking and the ability to capitalize on new opportunities. The heart of the new CEBIT will be pulsating at the d!campus, and there is no better place for us to present our innovations," reports Dr. Daniel Holz, Managing Director of SAP Germany. "The campus idea facilitates networking, exhibits and interaction in a completely new way," he adds.
SAP's new concept represents its committed support for the new direction CEBIT has taken. Digitization requires new types of thought and action, including new partnerships, approaches and technologies. The creative SAP exhibition concept weaves all of these strands together, according to the Walldorf-based enterprise.
Making the Ferris wheel the center of attention is SAP's way of highlighting its portfolio of innovations, providing a networking hub for startups, developers, customers and other interested parties. But the Ferris wheel is more than just a platform for networking – it also serves as a real-life showcase for the wheel’s "digital twin", in which all of the relevant information such as technical model data, spare parts and wear and tear parts as well as documents of all kinds will form a virtual, but at the same time realistic copy of the giant wheel.
