OS X Business Park at CeBIT 2010

Well-known companies from the Apple market environment will present business solutions for the "Mac" and "iPhone" as an alternative to "Windows systems" at the "OS X business park" within the scope of the world's largest computer exhibition in Hannover from 2nd to 6th March.

Since the complete changeover to Intel processors in 2006, Apple computers have experienced an ever-increasing popularity with independent, small and medium sized firms. An important argument for those who possibly wish to change:

With the Intel platform, the user can operate Windows and use it at the same time as well as the Apple operating system "OS X". The customer therefore has two computer systems in one piece of hardware. This is a good argument for tradesmen and/or companies who use software which is not (yet) available for "Mac OS".

Recently it has also been possible to access an Apple server via Windows software. The employee can, for example, work on his Mac desktop computer with DATEV or SAP software products, which are centrally installed on an OS X server.

Main focus
The content is divided into three main areas of focus:

  • IT and communication infrastructure
System software (Groupware, communication, Computer telephony, etc.), tools for administration, client management software and virtualisation solutions.
  • Productivity solutions
Software applications from the areas of CRM, ERP, FiBu, Office and utility and accessory programs.
  • Hardware/Systems
Server and network solutions as well as storage and additional periphery products for use within a business.
To highlight the points of focus there will be a stage for speeches to take place where the products and solutions will be presented. Experience how you can work more productively in your company with the help of the modern and user-friendly Apple technology and how you can reduce IT costs on a sustainable basis.

Business solutions for every purpose
Very few companies are aware that Apple is a complete platform alternative to the Windows environment in the segment of small and medium sized companies who have up to 500 jobs.

Therefore, the OS X business park will present business solutions for the Apple OS X platform (Mac clients, server and iPhone) as a joint stand on an area which will total 240 square metres. The exhibition will present the spectrum of business solutions which are available for the Apple platform as fully as possible.

The OS X business park will show that all of the current IT system solutions and applications are already available for the OS X platform. At the same time the iPhone will also be presented as a particularly user-friendly client for many applications.
