CeBIT established the world leading exhibition for green IT and follows this successful story in partnership with BITKOM e.V. in 2010. In Hall 8 is an area about 2.000 sqm where CeBIT green IT is presented.

CeBIT offers with "CeBIT green IT" a platform for the interested visitor who can receive comprehensive information about economic & ecological successful products and business models and the exchange with other suppliers and users.

Here, the innovative "green" products and solutions of the ICT-Industry are presented and explained: You find everything from electricity saving Notebooks for everyone to energy-efficient data center all the way to high end Video conferences in HD quality. On top innovative concepts and visions of the future get introduced, how, the user can save cost and resources through the use of ICT.

Green IT testing grounds at IBM

Energy efficiency is important for data centers, but it's not only because of cost and environmental factors. In data centers, performance is also influenced by climate. IBM is exploring such connections on the green IT testing grounds in their laboratories in Ehningen. Roland von Dungen, green IT researcher from Array Design & Design Systems Environment at IBM Germany, explains these interrelationships.
