Welcome to the cognitive era - outthink your limits

CeBIT 2016 for IBM will mark the beginning of a new computer era. Programmable computers will be replaced by cognitive systems. These systems are able to recognize patterns and connections in unstructured data hence to "understand" them. This is the new era of "cognitive business", in which IBM welcomes all visitors. IBM Cognitive Showcase

We produce over 2.5 quintillion bytes of data every day and 80% of it is unstructured. Therefore, it’s invisible to current technology. IBM Watson is a cognitive system that can understand that data, learn from it and reason through it. In a sense, Watson can think. When Watson thinks with you, you can outthink.

IoT

John Deere Tractor: To evaluate future potentials of Industrie 4.0 technologies in combination with the established lean production approach, John Deere has started an Industrie4.0 pilot project in two subassembly areas for the John Deere 6000 Tractor Series at John Deere site Mannheim together with IBM, Industrie 4.0 technology solution providers and research institutes.

One considerable component of the actual pilot project is the IBM Industrie4.0 Integration Platform which promotes close collaboration and interaction of manufacturing employees, process and order data as well as machines and various sensors by fast and flexible data integration and exchange.
