Hasso Plattner knows what it’s like to have IBM behind him and a company foundation ahead of him. And SAP knows that new ideas are constantly coming up. The software giant has now made room for young developers in Berlin.
The new "Data Space" that SAP opened in December in the Berlin-Mitte district focuses on digitization in general, and the Internet of Things in particular. The facilities include the event area "Data Hall", the digital creative space "Data Room" and the public restaurant "Data Kitchen". The first floor is also home to the "Data Hub", the seat of the new SAP IoT Startup Accelerator program. This new co-innovation program is aimed at B2B startups that deal with the Internet of Things.
In addition to comprehensive mentoring, SAP is providing jobs in Berlin as well as opening up access to the SAP ecosystem. "We want to leverage Berlin's attractiveness to make it possible to experience SAP by means of the Data Space. We also want to create a place that encourages a lively exchange of ideas about digitization and thus creates new synergies", says SAP's Human Resources Director Stefan Ries. With its four sections – Data Hall, Data Room, Data Hub and Data Kitchen - the Berlin Data Space covers an total area of 700 m².
