According to a Bitkom study, German customers of online pharmacies are satisfied or very satisfied with their service. Such services have become an important alternative source of supply especially in the countryside.
Specifically, the price-performance ratio, quality and selection of medication, as well as the speed of delivery are receiving applause. Only the step of consultation is in need of improvement according to the respondents. Dr. Bernhard Rohleder, Managing Director of the industry association, points out, however, in the context of the survey results , that consulting will be continuously expanded and improved. Online pharmacies are increasingly using video systems to be accessible to their clients at any time and location. He also points out that, especially in rural areas, the online purchase of medicines saves time and effort.
According to the survey, every third person buys their medication on the Internet, another 6% order from online retailers such as Amazon (the company is currently planning to expand its portfolio to prescription drugs and wants to work with local pharmacies ). 26% of respondents who have already bought from online pharmacies do so regularly, 35% sometimes, 23% rarely. 16% of customers so far have ordered from an online pharmacy only once.
