For the forklift giant Jungheinrich, the world's largest show for business IT has become a "must". The company participated in CeBIT for the third time – as an exhibitor!
For Richard Brandstetter, Managing Director, Jungheinrich Logistiksysteme GmbH, the company's performance at CeBIT 2015 was a complete success.
Since 1953 the Hamburg-based company has provided products and services "for every forklift need". With more than 12,500 employees Jungheinrich brings in annual global sales of over 2.5 billion euros. The company is the leader in Europe in storage technology.
But what is a forklift builder doing at CeBIT?
With a strong tailwind from its booming online business Jungheinrich AG has not only risen as a global player in ground conveyors, storage techniques and materials handling but also as a software developer.
"Digitalization found its way into logistics quite some time ago. For that reason, CeBIT is a strategically important trade show for Jungheinrich in order to transform our image as a traditional forklift builder into that of a solutions provider"
In 2015 Jungheinrich appeared for the third time at the world's leading show for business IT. "Real time transparency, safe process communication and intelligent forklifts are the customer expectations that we fulfill with intelligent products such as Jungheinrich WMS, our warehouse management system," says Brandstetter. "Digitalization and integration of ERP system, products, forklifts and racking systems facilitate an integrated process chain and enable our customers to be resource-efficient and versatile when carrying out their work."
At Jungheinrich this is known as "intralogistics 4.0".
CeBIT has become a mandatory event for Jungheinrich. "We present ourselves here as a software provider," says Richard Brandstetter. In addition to advertisements in trade magazines, customers are invited to Hannover through newsletters and personal contacts.
With the Motto "Connect to Systems" the company emphasizes "the connection between technical expertise and creative ideas for integrated solutions" at their exhibition stand. The centerpiece is the Warehouse Management System (WMS) Jungheinrich developed. "With Jungheinrich WMS, optimized wireless LAN solutions, and robust data transmission equipment we guarantee safe process communication in real time, turn our forklifts into intelligent machines and provide a flexible and transparent IT environment," says Brandstetter. The WMS manages, controls, and optimizes warehouse processes. Vertical lift systems such as the Jungheinrich Lift Racking and the Jungheinrich Paternoster Racking systems can be integrated into the warehouse management system.
"At CeBIT we impressively proved that Jungheinrich is a pioneer in the digitalization of intralogistics. With 20 percent more leads than the year before, the trade show was overwhelmingly successful for us. Our course from a traditional forklift builder to a solutions provider persuaded many visitors."
