Building installations, street lighting, wearable devices – to an increasing extent machines and everyday objects are being equipped with RFIDs and sensors, thus facilitating autonomous communication via the Internet. CeBIT 2016 will reflect this development. The new display category 'IoT SOLUTIONS' will focus on the Internet of Things and the emerging "ecosystem", which embraces a complete array of technologies and business sectors
Against this background CeBIT 2016 will present the new highlight 'IoT SOLUTIONS' in Hall 13, where the exhibitors have an ideal opportunity to showcase their solutions along the entire value chain. IoT concepts are deployed most frequently in smart networks, production processes, smart building installations, the healthcare sector, logistics and retailing. "This is precisely where the new display category 'IoT SOLUTIONS' comes into play. The lineup embraces Automotive & Logistics, Smart Home & Building, Smart Health, Manufacturing, Aviation und Agriculture," Felzmann explains.
The spotlight will be on the interconnection and digitization of products, processes and services. 'IoT SOLUTIONS' will be located in Hall 13, in the immediate vicinity of the CeBIT cluster Communication & Networks , which features enabler technologies as well as telematics and M2M. This will create a platform which showcases product innovations in the context of practical applications. Felzmann: "In combination with the adjacent Communication & Networks cluster in Hall 13, the southern axis of the CeBIT site will create an area with enormous potential synergies. In addition, ‘IoT SOLUTIONS’ will profit from the high-profile presentations of Big Data and Security technology at CeBIT 2016. In short, ‘IoT SOLUTIONS’ will be a hotspot for innovation and integration."
The 'Communications & IoT SOLUTIONS Forum' will provide a central platform for knowledge transfer. All the key issues will be discussed in-depth within the framework of workshops, panel discussions and lectures. In all cases the emphasis will be on active participation and dialogue. The topics:
