Unified Communications (UC) is all about integrating different communications media into a standard application environment. This is intended to ensure that communication partners at different locations can get hold of each other more easily and thus speed up business processes. With precisely this aim in mind, software manufacturer C4B has released the latest generation of the XPhone Connect UC solution to support both Skype for Business and Cisco Jabber 11, providing text search and caller identification functions across all linked data sources. But C4B is now set to expand this range of functions even further. The communications specialist is at CeBIT in Hannover this year with a sneak preview of the next phase of integration - the Skype for Business dashboard.

Using the AppLink dashboard for Skype for Business, virtually any information stored about a particular contact in linked data sources including ERP, HR or CRM systems can be displayed as soon as a call comes in. What’s more, specific actions such as "new sales opportunity" or "new meeting" can be defined so that these can also be pursued directly via the client. The dashboards are set up and managed centrally by the administrator - the required data fields and relevant actions are drawn up in the dashboard designer using a simple drag & drop function before being rolled out centrally. If a contact is found in a data source such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP or Salesforce for which a dashboard exists, this is automatically displayed in the Skype for Business client.
