Heavyweight-corporate-level data backup solutions? Munich-based FAST LTA AG is showing how SMEs can also enjoy big players' benefits with its Silent Brick System, as its two new releases coincide with CeBIT 2017.
Silent Bricks are movable storage containers that can be filled with standard hard drives or SSDs to create a flexible storage architecture. The two new releases Silent Brick Flash and Silent Brick WORM, as showcased by FAST LTA AG, now open up an even wider range of configuration options. The idea is that Silent Brick Flash and Silent Brick WORM will enable the combination of four storage technologies within one single system - network-attached storage (NAS), SecureNAS, audit-compatible archiving and virtual tape library for backup-to-disk concepts in data backup environments, which are usually based on tape drives.
The new Silent Brick Flash is the best NAS option. With gross capacities of 3, 6 and 12 terabytes, its flash memory speeds up applications that need data to remain overwritable. The seal of the new Silent Brick WORM enables audit-compatible archiving for data that needs to be stored in a format that can't be overwritten. The certification of Silent Brick WORM also ensures compliance with relevant regulations. "We have chosen the slogan 'Passion for data backup' this year," explains Matthias Zahn, founder and board member of FAST LTA AG, pointing out the new milestones in the Silent Brick System. "Our new releases Silent Brick Flash and Silent Brick WORM confirm our commitment. They enable our customers to configure the Silent Brick System even more flexibly to suit their own particular needs," he explains.
