On a mission to educate and inform, Sophos GmbH is at CeBIT to highlight cyber hazards under the motto "Discover" with an eye-catching original NASA space suit on board.
The German subsidiary of British security specialist Sophos is bringing its new Synchronized Security solutions to Hannover along with pooled expertise on cyber hazards – all under the motto “Discover”. Senior Security Expert John Shier from Sophos Labs is making a special trip from the USA to provide an overview of the international hacker scene in his capacity as an RSA speaker and IT security blogger. He will also be looking at geo-malware, a recent development whereby generic malware attacks are increasingly being adapted to target specific regional attributes. It’s the strategy behind the recent wave of ransomware attacks, for example.
However, Sophos is not just getting the word out, it is also exhibiting effective solutions to deal with next-generation threats. The team from Wiesbaden is joined by three distributors and six partners to showcase coordinated collaboration of end-user and network solutions live at a total of 13 demo stations. Among the hardware highlights on show will be nine Heartbeat-supporting next-generation XG firewalls, firewalls from the SG series with a brand new UTM update including sandboxing and new WAF and VPN technologies. The latest version of the SafeGuard encryption solution for endpoint security is also on the starting blocks and there are a number of new features for Endpoint Protection Suites.
