The digitalSTROM smart home portfolio has been one of the highlights at CeBIT in Hannover for many years now – and each year brings new and ever more comprehensive possibilities, for both owners of networked homes and manufacturers and service providers in the smart living sector. From intelligent kitchen solutions and smart door locking systems to multifunctional surfaces and emergency call buttons for assisted-living arrangements – the range of potential applications that can be integrated into the digitalSTROM system is now wide enough to constitute a fully-fledged smart home ecosystem. The system is becoming increasingly intelligent, comprehensive and high-performance and is also opening up new ground for product innovations on the B2B scene.

New applications can be integrated via the digitalSTROM terminal, IP or series-integrated interface modules. The open interfaces ensure seamless interaction between devices from many different manufacturers. At CeBIT, digitalSTROM is demonstrating this concept based on the integration of learning thermostats from Google Nest, for example, which significantly enhances the devices' functionality. Another example shows how integrating Microsoft Kinect cameras and motion sensors can create an intuitive operating concept that allows users to control their smart home using simple and convenient gestures. Thanks to this concept, all the surfaces in a house could potentially be used to control applications and devices.
