This year’s CeBIT keynote theme of "d!conomy: Join, Create, Succeed" is an appeal for greater creativity. But what exactly does "d!conomy" mean? And what does the d!conomy look like in practice? The following is intended to help you better visualize the process of digital transformation.
How can you communicate a trend whose full dimensions are not yet known? This was the challenge facing the CeBIT Global Conferences team when it set about producing the advertising trailer for this year’s conferences. The job was to clarify what digital transformation actually consisted of. After all, it means different things to different people, and this is precisely what the trailer needed to capture.
That the digital transformation process is already underway became apparent during the interviews we conducted for the trailer. For some people, life without a smartphone and Internet is no longer imaginable. For other people, it is a question of enhanced efficiency. "There are always people behind these ideas" – something which makes transparency a key issue: transparency in dealing with people and their data. The colorful mannequins reflect this aspect. To what extent do we, as players in the digital transformation process, want to be "x-rayed"? And how can we participate in the d!conomy?
Transformation is a term which describes a process of development. The idea of using a construction site as the set for the video helped underline this phenomenon. The space we occupy is transformed little by little. New things are created which in turn set other processes in motion. One glass brick here, another glass brick there. And everyone decides for themselves how actively they want to contribute to this process. "It is no longer a question of ‘if’, but rather ‘how’."
"d!conomy: Join, Create, Succeed" – the official motto for CeBIT 2016 – invites people to take joint action. People from around the globe come together to shape the new digital world. The speakers at the CeBIT Global Conferences 2016 also come from different spheres of activity, each with his/her own views and experiences regarding digital transformation as pertains to business , society and research . Above and beyond this, the Loft at the CeBIT Global Conferences 2016 will provide an impression of life in an age of digital transformation, including robots as household helpers or the chip in your finger , which you can use to open the door of your home and perform other domestic tasks. We can look forward to many exciting themes at the CeBIT Global Conferences in March 2016 – check out the video for an initial impression.
