The international ICT industry and CeBIT as its flagship show have injected fresh impetus into the global market. "CeBIT and the industry as a whole have comprehensively addressed the issues of credibility and trust currently facing the sector," said Ernst Raue, the Deutsche Messe Managing Board member in charge of CeBIT, at the closing press conference in Hannover on Saturday. "This year's CeBIT was marked by a strong sense of determination, in many different ways."

Even clouds translated into bright prospects at CeBIT 2012, with cloud computing being one of the hottest topics at the event.

Deutsche Messe is appealing to Hannover's general populace to help minimize the impact of an impending strike announced by German trade union ver.di for Thursday, 8 March. The strike will affect part of the Hannover mass transit system ("üstra") during CeBIT.

Countries exponents in their respective continents, Brazil and Germany were never as close as during the week of 6-10 March, when the city of Hanover hosted the 26th edition of CeBIT, which had in its opening ceremony the presence of BrazilianPresident Dilma Rousseff and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Faced with the strike announced for Thursday, 8 March, by the trade union representatives of Hannover's mass transit company üstra, the citizens of Hannover are coming out in support of CeBIT visitors from around the globe.
