According to recent studies, the volume of data stored on digital media increases tenfold every five years. "Big Data" is the term experts use for data volumes that are so vast that standard software solutions can no longer cope with them. The ICT industry is looking for new ways of dealing with Big Data issues and is presenting the latest solutions in this field at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany.
