Second installment of international innovations competition announced
As the world's leading event for the digital industry, CeBIT is once again supporting the CODE_n initiative and its international competition for startups and budding enterprises.
In line with its motto of "Smart Solutions for Global Challenges", the contest is devoted to uncovering inspired digital business models for sustained energy solutions. Innovators from across the globe are invited to submit their business models online at www.code-n.org.
CODE_n 2012
When CeBIT opens its gates in Hannover, Germany, on 5 March, one of Europe’s biggest startup events begins as well. CODE_n presents 50 young companies from 13 countries in their own out-of-the-ordinary exhibition hall over five days. An approach with great potential, as shown by the example of carzapp from Berlin.
carzapp is a pioneer in private carsharing in Germany. Car owners can earn money by renting out their vehicle to others when they are not using it themselves. The difference with carzapp is an easy-to-install hardware kit that eliminates the need to hand over keys personally, instead turning smartphones into door openers. “The potential is huge,” declares Oliver Lünstedt, CEO of carzapp, “but to really get our idea off the ground, we need support – financial as well as strategic. CODE_n has already given us plenty of help in this area.”
CODE_n is an international initiative for digital pioneers, innovators and trailblazing startups. Launched in 2011 by GFT Technologies, the network’s goal is to promote outstanding young talents and their out-of-the-box business ideas, bringing them together in dialog and helping stimulate and accelerate innovations. CODE_n stands for "Code of the New", the DNA of innovation. The CODE_n competition takes place in 2013 for the second time. Last year more than 400 applicants from 42 nations entered the contest.
