Forum CeBIT in Motion 2010, Hall 7
An annual glimpse into the future of ITS-based applications.
The "CeBIT in Motion" forum highlights all the latest news and information on intelligent traffic telematics. Apart from specialist presentations, the forum also features panel discussions as well as user dialog and networking.
Here you can discover the products and services that will be setting the pace in telematics and navigation over the next 12 months and beyond.
The telematics and navigation sector has undergone some dramatic changes over the past 20 years. From the first cellphones and laptops, the first navigation devices, the UMTS standard, the mobile Internet all the way to smartphones and apps - mobile solutions applications have become steadily more abundant and easier to use. And the future will continue to drive the process of merging all information sources - both organizationally and technically. The computer, the cellphone, the navigation device, the car - even the user - everything will continue to converge.
Today it is difficult for any company, for any individual sector to keep tabs on all the critical changes taking place. Apps are springing up left and right, and despite the authorities' efforts to achieve standardization, the Web is creating its own standards.
- Who can determine all the potential courses of action?
- Are cities being steered by providers?
- Is it possible for a hotel to survive if it isn't listed as a POI on every single sat nav interface?
- How big is the actual gap between "automated" driving using a navigational device and fully automated (autonomous) driving?
All of these questions continue to crop up again and again, fueled by a steady stream of technological advances. The pace in the world of telematics - and the pace of our world as a result of telematics - is steadily changing.
