Broadband World

Broadband World 2012 in hall 13

Broadband World 2011, Hall 13

Broadband World 2011, Hall 13

The central meeting point for everyone interested in broadband.

In autumn 2010, mobile operators in Germany started to rollout next generation networks (LTE). The so called white-spots in rural broadband coverage are mostly closed. The next step involves the realization of the broadband targets of the federal government: in 2014, 75% of the households should have access to at least 50 Mbit/s to reach full coverage in 2018.

Another focus of the Broadband World will be about technology trends and services of tomorrow. How can broadband applications such as unified communications and collaboration, or high-quality triple-play services be offered user-friendly and with a mix of technologies? How will "Superfast Broadband" products look like at the access level? How will the mix between different access technologies like copper, fiber, broadband cable or satellite access be represented in the market? Will the open access approach play a significant role in the future market orientation?

Professional Data Center

Professional Data Center

Data centers are business IT backbones. Collectively, they form the planet’s communication headquarters. And they are undergoing far-reaching changes. Whereas in recent years companies focused on centralizing IT functions in data centers and setting up efficient business processes, the emphasis has now shifted to optimizing the data centers themselves. Consolidation, cost reduction and environmental concerns now top the list of issues that drive the decision making of IT sector executives.
