Hamid Akhavan (1961, Tehran) is CEO at Siemens Enterprise in Munich since 02/10, a joint venture for telecommunication solutions owned by Siemens AG (49 %) and the US Financial Investor Gores (51%), including its daughter companies Enterasys Networks und SER Solutions, with annual sales of 3,21 bn. € and 14 thousand staff.
Prior to that, Akhavan was with Deutsche Telekom in Bonn as Executive Operating Board Chairman when serving as COO mobile markets in Europe, and at the same time as CEO of the mobile division, T-Mobile International, he was responsible for areas of products, innovation, technology, IT, procurement, international sales and international marketing. Akhavan started at Deutsche Telekom in 09/01 as CIO/CTO. Before, he held same positions at Teligent Inc. in Virginia, and furthermore positions in the US at the service company for telephones, Bell in Red Bank in New Jersey and at NASA in California.
With degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from California Institute of Technology, Akhavan received a Bachelor of Science and a Master from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
