Dr. Gunter Küchler was born in 1956 and has been a Member of the Executive Board of Lufthansa Systems AG since 2002. In this position, he is responsible for airline applications as well as all sales activities within the EMEA and Asia Pacific region.

Dr. Küchler has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. His work has always focused on maximizing customer benefits through the optimal use of IT - both for the aviation industry and other sectors. At Lufthansa Systems, key aspects of his activities include strengthening the company's already strong position within Europe and the Middle East and the development of new markets in North and South America as well as China and Southeast Asia. Dr. Küchler views globalization as an opportunity to successfully offer high-quality products and services around the world, while improving the competitiveness of Lufthansa Systems through international sites. As a technological leader, Lufthansa Systems supports innovation in an international context. Thus, Dr. Küchler promotes the cooperation between research and industry as a member of the Gerhard Herzberg Gesellschaft and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research.

Dr. Küchler joined Lufthansa Systems in September 2000 as Managing Director of Lufthansa Systems Infratec GmbH, a subsidiary which operates its customers' systems in the data center, manages high-performance networks and carries out complex outsourcing projects. Between 1987 and 2000 he worked for EDS, where he was appointed to the company's executive management in 1995. During this time, he focused on projects for the automobile and steel industries.

Dr. Küchler studied physics at the Technical University of Darmstadt and gained his PhD after five years of work at various international research institutes.
