digital imaging - more than just photography

The digitization of photography has ushered in a whole new era for users. Visitors will enjoy an expansive selection of options for capturing, processing and outputting images, all presented under Digital Imaging umbrella.

More and more people are unlocking the potential of digital photography in both their personal and professional lives and, as a result, the market has boomed. At CeBIT, visitors can find out about products, solutions and applications and explore the entire world of digital imaging!

In Hall 26, adf e.V. (the Digital Photography Working Party) - along with prestigious names such as Adobe, Avnet, Canon, Datacolor, Fujifilm, Sigma and Quatographic - is showcasing cutting-edge developments in digital photography on approximately 1,000 square meters of exhibition space. Our very own test center - the "digital camera experience area" - offers you the chance to compare a wide range of cutting-edge digital cameras from numerous manufacturers, while a daily program of specialist presentations provides practical information for photographers and anyone else who wants to explore the exciting world of digital photography.

Another highlight is professional photographer Walter Rammler's live presentation - the ever-popular "Faces of CeBIT" feature.

But that is by no means all - photography and graphic design students from Faculty III at Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts are also adding their own theoretical and practical experience to this outstanding program.

As part of a major exhibition, the students are showing their own images based on the themes of "Metropolis", "Romance", "The Seven Deadly Sins" and "The Tower of Babel".

All the works are photomontages - surreal, idealized and grandiose scenes produced by the students using digital technology. Three thesis projects are also being shown at a second exhibition organized by the Photography department of the university, which is one of Europe's leading educational institutes for photojournalism and stages the Lumix Festival for Young Photojournalism every two years.

The university is also using a large screen to display a series of slideshows that have been produced specially for the Internet and focus on a range of themes with a mix of photos, music and voiceovers. It is this form of storytelling, using photos and a range of other media, that is enjoying an incredible boom at present.
