The Australian market has a strong history with current estimates showing Australia out-performing the worldwide growth in the ICT sector as the market experiences 2.6 % per annum growth for ICT equipment.

The country's geographical location, its cultural proximity to Asia, and its American/European style economy offers companies perfect conditions for tapping into the growth markets of Asia. CeBIT Australia 2009 defies economic slowdown
CeBIT Australia 2009 (Darling Harbour, May 12-14) closed its doors having defied the economic climate, with a surge of interest from business technology users and small business owners swelling official attendance figures to achieve another strong result.
With registered visitors coming from some 68 countries, including at least 10 international trade delegations of politicians and buyer groups from such countries as China and Korea visiting the show, CeBIT Australia 2009 proved a strong drawcard for companies from all regions of the world.
It is estimated that as much as half a billion Australian Dollars was generated from the event - with contract signed directly on the show floor and others resulting from prospect and verified leads.

The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology will offer again an official joint participation for German companies and their subsidiaries abroad at CeBIT Australia 2010.
